"Free Lunch"?
As the old saying goes, "There's no such thing as a free lunch." There have been many stories in the newspapers and on TV about these so-called "Free Lunch" seminars. Allegations of these events turning into high-pressure sales tactics and misleading claims abound. Unfortunately, some are true.
I have always been very clear about why I do seminars. I hold them as a way to market my company and get in front of potential clients; people I may be able to help ins a substantial way. My approach is not for everyone. Workshop attendees are informed, entertained, and in most cases leave knowing more than when they came in.
You may learn of things that need your attention. You will be offered a free consultation, but what you do from there is entirely up to you. If you know your future or that of your family could be in jeopardy by not taking some action... you might want to get some professional guidance! Whether that is me, an attorney, your own advisor, or an insurance agent doesn't matter. What does matter is that you find a qualified professional you feel comfortable with.
After these workshops, people meet with me because they appreciate my approach, or know they need to act on an area that I covered. If you attend any seminar (including mine) and feel as though you are being pressured into doing something against your will, please report it to the proper authorities. There are plenty of honest professionals doing them for the right reasons.
